Letters to David Hilliard and Charles Garry, 1970-1972 and nd.

Included is a typescript, "Right on David, " with an attached letter to D. Hilliard, nd; two letters to C. Garry from Genet, nd and 1972; and a photocopy of a Genet letter to the Black Panther Party, 1970. The note from David Hilliard, quoted from above, was written on the back of one of of the letters, 1998, and explains that Marvin Stender, husband of Fay Stender (also one of Hilliard's attorneys), and also in the same law office, gave back to Party members materials pertaining to them.

David Hilliard was in prison from 1970 to 1974 on a one-year to ten-year assault charge. His letters from Genet were sent to him through his lawyer, Charles Garry, who also received some direct communication from Genet.
